cPanel or Plesk - Which is better?

At the moment, I'm still doing some research on a few new hosting companies, but thinking of switching to ServInt from Global Gold. However, ServInt has an option I've never seen any of my hosts offer. That option being able to choose whether I want to use cPanel or Plesk. I'm currently using Plesk on Global Gold, and it's been a LONG time since I've even looked at a cPanel, so, my question to you all is, which panel do you think is better and why?

Firstly if you're with GlobalGold, have a look at their founder Tim Dunton's new company, Nimbus Hosting

Secondly, when Tim was at GlobalGold he did say I could have cPanel if I wanted, (I use a VPS), but that Plesk was less resource hungry.

That said, I struggle with Plesk and found cPanel more powerful and userfriendly. But as that only affects me I have gone with the advice about performance and stuck with it.

Given a choice between those two, I've always gone with Plesk.

You'll find it's more of a matter of personal preference than anything. Both panels have their nitch with different people.

There is only one thing I don't like about Plesk. That is removing some options is a pain, and they don't always completely uninstall. That leaves you having to manually uninstall/disable some items via SSH as root.

The one thing that I absolutely love is the firewall in Plesk. It's easy to configure and works perfectly. The only thing you need to be sure of is if you're running any sort of automatic IP banning via iptables, make sure you restart that after changing something in the Plesk firewall.

First time I ever saw cpanel I stepped right in to it like an old pair of jeans. Comfortable. It's easy to use.

I've also always, always preferred cPanel over plesk.

Plesk used to be so bad whenever I came across someone using it, I'd simply pass the job up. It's not as bad lately, but its lightyears behind cPanel.

Yeah, the more I think about it, the more I'm more than likely going to end up using cPanel instead of Plesk. Global Gold is actually the first host I've been on that I've used Plesk and was confused as soon as I logged in to my plesk panel. I remember spending the first day just reading through the administrators guide from plesk. Needless to say, that didn't quite help too much lol

Ditto on everything but the passing up part

cPanel, 1000 times cPanel, there isn't a situtation I'd choose plesk over cpanel, ever.

If I had a choice between Plesk, and nothing, I'd choose nothing and do it by hand.
