Is there a way that I can hide a moderator basically not showing up anywhere that he is a moderator? He wants to be anonymous and I notice when you add someone as a moderator the individual shows up above Users Browsing this Forum. I could just create a new account for this person but was wondering if there is a way to hide who is a moderator.

It would not be worth the trouble to you. Just make him a new account. :P

There is no default way to hide a moderator. (Super Mod/Admin, I think yes if you just make it a secondary usergroup.)
