Lastest image uploaded in a sidebar

I'm looking for a sidebar box which displays the latest image uploaded, when you click on it it takes you to that image's page where users can comment and rate etc. and hopefully rep.

This is a fresh install of a forum, vB4.0.7, i have nothing to migrate and don't mind using a 3rd party image gallery like Gallery2. I'd also like an automated sweep where all images emailed to a particular email address are uploaded to a particular folder.

End Result: Users email in pic (from iphone or whatever), image is automatically loaded in to gallery and the latest image is displayed on a sidebar with a link back to image in gallery for comments ratings etc.

Any ideas?
