Hi. In the option settings is written:
Quote:
1) Remove the register button into board (guests aren't allowed, as long double registration per user) so I should check every time those settings and hide the button on top bar 2) Most importantDon't display the 'Register' link on first page when they aren't allowed, optionally adding a new <list> item explaining this is for maintenance reasons. How should I modify what template ? Could I make some 'if' choose whitin it ? Thanks a lot. Bye |

Some people will find a way around this..
Because all vB's have board/register.php, so all a user has to do is change the URL to point to the register.php page and he will be able to register.. And why do you want to get rid of the buttons if no new users will be able to sign up anyways? I mean it's double work for nothing in my opinion. |

Yeah I know, at first I thought just wanted to remove the button, then I realized he wanted to do both.

Exactly. I saw an hack for removing the 'register' button INSIDE the bb, but would the same way remove - WHEN OPTIONS SAY SO - the register link on the 'unregistered front page', explaining there why new subscriptions aren't allowed for a while.
I would prefer a preventive check instead of a later one ('sorry .... etc.') Hope this should be clear. Thanks. |

My best idea for you would be to enable that option in vb options once you don't want new registrations. And afterwards open the header template. Put a <!-- before the rgeister button html code. And a --> after it.
