Header Graphics Parameters - Tutorial / Specs?

Is there some place where one can read what specs should be used when creating a new header graphic in the 3x series as well as 4.0?

Such as max height, width, etc, how much of the right side disappears upon scaling, how large the left side of the graphic should be, the part that never scales, etc.

You can make any graphic for it, there really aren't guideliness, or specs to go by since each header and graphic will be different.

vBulletin is pretty customizable so you can fit whatever you want in there.
