@pointless arguments... i'm sorry for not choosing my words carefully enough. but i have spend quite a bit of time on vb.org. and i ment in the sense of inspirational. i believe the chiefpost being different was originally a vbulletin.org thing, before somebody made a hack for it. matter of fact i kind of made my own chiefpost mod, after seeing on vbulletin how things look, didn't work quite as well as the one released a couple of weeks later but it did it's job. same with the downloads, mods on vbulletin.org inspired a few coders i'm sure. maybe you're right though i suppose it is a pointless argument if nobody else feels that way. it was just my point of view, that i believed others might share. i wasn't trying make up stuff to convince the forum that in needed a change. i merely stated the reason i would have liked to see vb.org on the 4.0 standard. i also believe alfa1 made a great point with the bad advertising, but i'm sure you would beg to differ. i think if new users saw all the great possibilities of vb they would be more willing to purchase it. the last 2 people that offered me a community creation job wanted me to use invision because they have come to believe it can do so much more. i apologize paul, i should have educated myself first. i wasn't aware of the fact that 4.0.2 was already in the works, i haven't been to vb.com or vb.org in about a year i believe. but thanks for explaining, what you say makes perfect sense. |
