Changing the COPPA Settings
Hi,
I need to know how to change the COPPA settings so that it effects anyone that's under 16 instead of 13. Could anyone give me suggestions on how best to do this. |

If you changed it, it wouldn't be COPPA... COPPA (a US law) is for children under 13.
However, look in the modifications section, I believe there's a modification there that restricts age. |

As my site isn't based in the US or target market based there. The fact that if I changed it, it wouldn't be coppa dosn't really matter.
I've currenty got it set so that anyone under 13 can't register on my site. I need to change it so that people upder 16 can't register on my site to remain compliant with UK law. I would have thought it would be simpler to use the facilitys already build into vbulletin for coppa to achive this but I just need help in knowing what I'd need to change to increase the age limit from 13 to 16. |

Have you tried doing a search in the files for the word "coppa"? I'd guess that it is commented where it comes into play. Even do a search for the number "13" in the registration.ph file and you will find where it is done.
