Default Thanks Greenies! (and purple!)

Redline, Gerry, and Lynne. You three have been amazing with helping with my forums for the past year or so. Thank you so much all three of you!

I believe you guys help lots of people, and sometimes may not receive the proper thanks that you deserve. If there was a donation feature for staff (and if I had money! ) you'd definitely have a few bucks in your Paypal, but unfortunately, I have no money, and there is no donation feature.

Thanks again you three! (other people have helped me a couple of times too, but I think these three really do deserve a thanks thread)

You're very welcome Mike! I've been pretty busy the past week or so with other situations and projects but I try to help when I'm actually available. I always like seeing these appreciation threads and posts as well, because you're right, it doesn't seem like the people that do go out of their way to help get appreciated for it. Kind of like the thread that was started a couple months ago about people not saying "Thank you" after someone answers their question or solves a problem they may be having. So, thank you again Mike!

Well you guys truly are helpful!

Most people only offer to help if it's in the paid requests section, which some of us don't have the money to do every time we have a problem. But you guys (I guess it's part of your job - but then again, your job is voluntary), help people wherever they need it, and a lot of us appreciate that.

I've been planning to make this thread for a while, but I have been busy lately. Anyways, if anyone else wants to say thanks to this excellent trio, feel free to post a comment here for them.

Off topic: What is your job in the military? My dad works for the Canadian military - but we were posted to the U.S., because he works in the air force, and there's certain reasons that he needed to go to the U.S. to work there (not sure if I'm allowed to share the reasons, maybe I'll get killed if I do! )

I WAS in the U.S. Navy as a Hosptal Corpsman (Specialty: Field Medical Service Technician) but I got administratively separated under an Honorable Discharge last week (18 AUG 2009) due to a heart problem that was found.

I've always wanted to work in the military, but I'd want a field job, where I'm out in the field, with a gun, defending my country, and family.

That sucks man! Are you okay? It's not a serious problem, is it?

Basically the nice long medical term is "Myocardial bridging of the mid-left anterior descending artery"

Here's a small article on it though if you're curious: http://www.springerlink.com/content/t28107255h70145v/

I was going to ask but thought it was your own private business so never did. My brother has congenital heart disease known as the transposition of the great arteries. Which mean his arteries are reversed around the incorrect way with him having a shunt place to widen his artery. Because he had 4 major heart ops as a child he'll need a stent implanted when he's older.

It's hard to remember all the medical terms but hopefully I got it correct didn't know whether yours was similar.

Are you still needing to go for further ops?

Edit: Back On_topic I agree Gerry has been of great help and has shown good character prior becoming staff and after.

Well, Shelley, that's the thing. They WON'T do the operations. Hopefully the VA is going to tell me otherwise though since the Navy apparently didn't want anything to do with it.

Ridiculous, Seriously? I've been around a bit when it comes to heart hospitals, when I was in the hospital with my brother (first 9 months of his life) and the severity of needing after-care and of course the operations which doesn't necessarily mean you'll need one you'll most probably need more.

Because his saturations were low (oxygen levels were low) the first open heart op never worked and needed a second. then a third and a fourth so it's vital (as you know you must have did the research) that you'll most likely need more than 1 op.

That's the good thing about the UK I have to say, When it comes to health care they are excellent it's one of the best heart specialist hospitals in the UK. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glenfield_Hospital

Hopefully everything works out for the better for you redline.
