Lynne, I was thinking that the problem was related to Apache 1.3 with vBulletin. Are you using this server version? Anyway, I realized that I've had my forum in a locked state all this time, and this seems to be related to the problem.. see below.
toonysnn, I added the '@' as you suggested, and it fixed the problem!, in part. If the forum is locked and I am logged into the forum (as admin of course), then if I return to my splash page and link to a page that includes global, I do not have any problem (I did before adding @). If however, I log out of the forum and do the same thing, I end up with the forum page that has the message "Sorry, the forum is unavailable at this time....". Now, I'm thinking this is a problem with vbulletin 3.8. Why? because if I unlock the forum, I don't have a problem whether I'm logged in or not. ![]() Perhaps somebody can reproduce the problem as I've described. Apache 1.3 may still somehow be related, but not sure about this. Thanks a lot for all the input! |

Adding a @ in front of a function does not remove any output at all. It only supresses the error/warning message. The error is still there, you only don't see it anymore. Bad solution in this case, as he should resolve the problem not hide it.
