Size of Header Graphic

I had a Header graphic designed for my site and it's too short for the length of the tables.
I'd like it to go across the entire length of the tables. Does anyone know what is a good
length so that it covers the length of a standard forum. The designer needs it in pixcels.

If someone could help I would really appreciate it.

The image is presently 922 pix so get the designer to make it 1080 and see how you go, these things can be a bit of trial and error and on some sites I have included a background to take up the space by adding it into the header like this

Try the attached image I have resized it as suggested and see how you go.

Thank you!!! That was really helpful. I put it on the site to see how it would look but I need to see it on a pc (I'm on a mac). Then, I can hand it over to my designer. On my mac it looks perfect right now. The code that you add in the background... did you place that on the main

Styles and templates -- Style Manager -- edit template -- header

Don't change the header code at this time, if you do come to the conclusion you need to add background spacers I will give you the full code to add into your CSS for the header. Let's see if the resize works 1st. The only problem with resizing can be that the image gets too deep and half fills the page but i think it will be OK.
I am on a PC and it needs just a tad more, try the one attached here.

Gosh you've been such a big help! I really appreciate all of your support! I tried to upload the new banner but it seems to be 1024 x 200 too. Was the second one still 1024 x 200 too but
still slightly larger in some way? I'll try up-loading it just in case.

I didn't change the code. I think the banner will look great if it is the right size.

OK the forum is resizing it to 1024, this one is zipped so should be OK, I have included both images in the zipped folder.

I just downloaded the file. I'll lift the new version up to the server and see how it works.
Everyone is already saying that the last version looks so much better than the original
sized graphic. Hopefully this size will be perfect.

If you're still on-line, can you check the site to see how your computer monitor is
showing this. Mine shows it as being exactly meeting the white pat of the table
so it looks fine. But, I called someone else on an IMac and they said it is short again.
The other version was better.

Actually - you can make your site header so that it fits all background 1024x768 and larger - You'll need to size your header so that it's 1024 in width - then splice it into three pieces - one of the pieces will be a bit of repeated background coded in css - the other pieces will be the left logo section and the right header section.

It's not too difficult to accomplish. See This Post for similar code you'd use.

This type of header code is very good for all fluid styles so that the header shows the same on most all resolutions = HTH

I was wondering how header were made for fluid tables. I just took a look at the thread,
