Today my permissions changed to "You may not post attachments" for myself (admin) as well as registered users and even though i reset them the permissions do not change. How do i correct this permissions error? TIA!

Check the permissions in the Usergroup Manager for each usergroup and also in Attachment Permissions for the usergroups and in Forum Permissions for the usergroups in each forum.

Thanks for the quick reply Lynn, I've turned them on and off a few times with no change. The same with Attachment Permissions. That's what really confuses me.

There are three different areas I listed in my post - you checked all three? If you did, then try disabling your modifications/plugins and see if you still have this problem.
Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit config.php and add this line right under <?php PHP Code:

Usergroup Manager - Admin - Can Upload Attachments -> Yes
Usergroup Manager - Registered Users - Can Upload Attachments -> Yes Forums & Moderators - Forum Permissions - "Forum Name" - Attachment Permissions - Can Upload Attachments -> Yes <?php define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true); I still get the "You may not post attachments" Am I missing something from doing this so many times? |

I also mentioned Attachment Permissions for the usergroups and you didn't mention checking them.

Isn't this what you're asking?
Usergroup Manager - Registered Users - Can Upload Attachments -> Yes |

No. Attachments > Attachment Permissions
Also, make sure you haven't maxed out your upload limit in usergroup manager > usergroup. |

Sorry Lynn, yes I did check the "attachments - attachment permissions"
To reiterate, this problem appears to have happened spontaneously. |

If the permissions are all fine, and it isn't a modification causing the problem, then I can't think of what else. If no one else has an idea, you may want to put in a Support Ticket.
