I spent a few minutes searching but couldn't find what I was looking for.
Does anyone know if there is an inherent function with VB 3.8, or a Mod, that will let a Forum's admins change the author of a post/thread ? The reason being we have limited creation of threads in a particular forum and users need to apply to start one. The admins normally created the thread for the users that they can then use. Think of it like a diary etc. I'd love to be able to create the thread, but then change the first post/thread starters name to the person that requested creation. Does anyone know if this is possible ? I know's it's part of the standard feature set of phpbb but I can't seem to find anything on VB. |

Not with default vB. There might be a modification for this, otherwise you could just change it in the database using phpMyAdmin or such.
Maybe a better alternative would be to either: - Moderate new threads in this forum. If accepted by staff, the original poster is still on the thread. - Have a submission forum where members only see their own threads. If accepted staff can move the thread to public forums (still with original author). This is how we do this with article submissions: Submit New Article |

Thanks Marco. I've searched for Mods but couldn't find anything. I really don't want to go diving into the DB everytime we need to change the thread author.
I think the submission forum makes sense. I'll look into how we can work that in. |

Actually, I did find a Mod for this. Thanks.
