Need help with font colors and text box colors

I am using a template but the text box when creating a new post is black with gray font, and I would like the box WHITE with BLACK font...

this is global to every new thread box.... the title box is ok, but the box (where I am currently typing this post) is black on my site... can anyone tell me the step by step - dumb it down - to fix this?
