I was trying to install vB AJAX Cron on my 3.8.1 board, but it didn't seem to be working, no tasks were running.
I uninstalled it, and still none of my tasks are running. I have 2 boards setup, one is a dev board, the other is my "live" board(its not actually open to public though, either) When I check my scheduled tasks on my live board, the dates are all messed up(the cron hack has never been installed on this board) Im seeing stuff like "Next Time: 02-15-2009 5:25pm" or "Next Time: Yesterday 3:00pm" not to mention that the last time a task ran was Feb 27th, there are no log entries since then. the boards are not active as im the only one there, does there need to be activity before tasks run? Is there a date setting somewhere ive missed and this is why the "next time" are set in the past? |

Scheduled Tasks get 'triggered' by users clicking around on your site. If your site is not open to the public, then you aren't getting users clicking around and so they aren't running. When I get ready to go do stuff on my test site, the first thing I do is go on and randomly click around to get all the Scheduled Tasks to run and get up-to-date.

any specific stuff i should be clicking to trigger such events?
Why does "Next Time" have dates from the past listed though..... that seems strange to me. |

Nothing specific - just pages that have the footer in them that has the cron job in it.
I don't know why the dates are from the past. See if you can get them updated by clicking around. Look at the Manager, click around, refresh the manager, and see if it changes at all. |
