Soft on crime, tough on victims
Mrs Harding, who sings in the church choir, remonstrated with them, only to be told in no uncertain terms where to go. When one of the boys called her a 'f****** fatty' she swiped him with some church paperwork she was carrying. That was enough to get her arrested for assault and dragged before the courts. Although given an absolute discharge, she now has a criminal record. Not so long ago, a village bobby would have been on hand to administer a swift clip round the ear. These days, he'd be alongside Mrs Harding in the dock. Ask Sergeant Bob Woodward. He was prosecuted for defending himself against a prisoner who tried to head-butt him in the custody suite at Cannock, Staffs. The case was only dropped when the witness failed to turn up at court, after absconding on another charge of 'glassing' someone in a pub. Whilst here is a list of recent proceedings at Tameside Magistrates Court, in Greater Manchester. Phil John Day, 29, was caught in possession of heroin and crack cocaine. Sentence: conditional discharge and ?60 costs. Steven Edward Inglis, 22, guilty of assaulting a woman by beating. Fined ?65, with ?50 compensation and ?75 costs. The court was reserving its full wrath for master criminal Phillip Brown, who was fined ?175 with ?155 costs. His heinous crime? Dropping a cigarette butt. A few months ago Jane Brown from Derby, was fined ?400 for leaving a plastic childrens toy on top of her dustbin for collection, she has now a criminal record which will be with her for life, she's only 23, what does that do to her career and her future?? Who says Crime dosn't pay, In this crap society, it certainly does What was that about 'tough on crime' Makes you MAD ![]() |

or google - depends on where u read your news.
The Mail is not the only source and the story does not change from newspaper to newspaper so im unsure why u quoted the mail here. |

Because the Mail would have you believe every Muslim is a fundamentalist, that there are more Eastern Europeans in the country now than British, and that everyone in the country is politically correct. It's an awful tabloid.

It's approximately as concerned with house prices as the Express, but somewhat less obsessed with Princess Diana.

i watched a program on tv a few weeks back - Interceptors (the police) and everyone who they caught who had broke the law was only handed a fine or a community service.
One guy took the police on a 4hr chase across different counties in a wagon with a child on board and he only got community service. We cant blame the police because its the courts and the lawmakers that allow these people to go free. Why do the police bother catching people when the courts just let them go. Why do the courts bother sentencing people when there simply aint nowhere to send them. Its the knock on effect - goverment wont build any new jails and criminals are getting away with everything. Prepare for a summer of discontent if u read todays paper as the army has been put on standby because they predict major roits this summer. What with the economy and middle class families out of work. Also the human rights act only applies if you human - so that counts out these animals who commit horrendous crimes against their fellow man/woman (pc correctness ![]() |
