Is there a program for my stupidity?
Is there a program for my stupidity?
Okay, is there a program to detect missing code? I mean I just spent three hours trying to figure out where I went wrong and finally figured out that I left out a stupid stupid stupid stupid stupid = sign. I'm officially not coder material and my brain hurts. Isn't there a program somewhere online that can scan through code to detect missing things? Sure would make my life easier. I'm having a Martini. Thanks a million Grumpy Gabby |

usually, we use a Code Editor, there are plenty that can debug your code and check its consistancy, but usually you have to pay a minimum to have one that works for real...

What language are you writing in? php?
Almost any editor will let you know when your code is broken by the text highlighting features. Also, error reporting pin points the problems more often than not. |

Thanks guys.
Well ok... let me start my saying I'm super stupid with all of this. I'm not using any editor. I created a new word doc and and start the code there and then pasted it to the right areas for the design. I'm really learning very slowing by viewing the source of every friggen site I go to and sort of learning from their examples. Trial by fire I guess. Plus reading 40 billion online articles and dry how-to tutorials. Gosh I just don't know how you'll do it. I'm about ready to stick my fist through the screen. I really am. I feel like I let myself stay in the dark about this for years and embarrassed that 12 year old can do this but I apparently have some G-D mental block with this. Can you tell me what code editor you are using? Maybe I can learn from this as well although I'm about ready to throw in the towel. |

I personally use an editor called WeBuilder 2008. Little more advanced than Notepad++ above. Thinking of switching to Microsoft Expression Web though. |

if you have a Mac and a lot of money to spend, like me, i prefer BBEdit, because it work well with Panic Transmit, which is my FTP client... so i edit the files directly onsite without downloading/uploading each time.
i suppose a lot of PC editors can do this, but i know nothing about PC.. lol |

Wayne I really like the Webbuilder. It's only 68.95 too! I can do that. Looks like it's laid out pretty well for people like me. I'll give it a shot. Thank you! Gabby |
