How are the number of active users calculated? Are they people who have psoted or just logged in?

Just logged in during the time you specified in vboptions > forum home page options > active members time cut-off

I want to turn off the total active members. We had it on our old 3.68 turned off but I can't find the option on 3.81.

Just remove it from the phrase (you can search for phrases in the Admin CP).

I am not still able to find it. I mean I can find phrases in ACP but how to edit it?? Wehn I click on edit, I see very less option there to edit it!

You add a translation (basically). When you click on a phrase, it will go to a new page with the original phrase on top, and a box down the bottom. Enter the new text in this box.
