You know, I don't know about you but I'm super grateful for free mods/hacks and coders but lately I've been seeing coders being mistreated a lot by abusive members. As if they owe people something. Know what I mean? OMG. I would never be so disrespectful for something I'm getting for free and coming from the graciousness of someone. Sorry I just needed to vent.

How is this different to doing people favours in life?

Not everyone will be as greatful, or not everyone will come across as greatful but actually are. Then some will just not be greatful, but meh.

Unfortunately, I have seen what you are talking about. I'm not really sure what you can do about it. Just ignore the 'gimmes', I think.

i do not code for free anymore for this exact reason...

actually i do not code anymore, period

because of some morons who think they are the kings of the world...making trouble, whinning, flaming and cheating on the good people just because they do not have what they want.

I have seen that attitude before, and that's fine. But, some people just like to share the code they wrote (or graphics they made) and I think the best advice for them when they get gimmies posting is to just ignore them or tell them that if they want that function, they can modify the code themselves.

worked as graphics designer proffesionaly in the past and you will come across clients that are a handful. you just have to not let it get to you.

1 out of a 100 may be like that but you dont tar everyone with the same brush.
