looked all over this forum with no luck.
I want to have 2 languages avaliable to users. I am looking for a mod or something that will allow a user to choose between spanish and english display of my forum. maybe a selection at registration or a selection in the profile to allow the user to view in their perfered language. Can vbulletin support 2 main languages? My forum is all english at the time. Maybe vbtransulator? something a user can set so they can view the forum in any language they perfer? |

Do you mean you want someone to make a post and then it will be automatically somehow translated into the other language? I've never seen something like that. You can get language packs at vb.com - vBulletin Languages & Phrases - but translating a page is different. There are some firefox add-ons that will allow you to translate a page, but that's all I know of.

You would have to somehow translate all the posts from english to spanish and I've never seen a modification for that. Like I said, tell the users to get one of the firefox add-ons to use or bookmark babelfish or similar.
You can use the language pack, but that just translates the phrases. |

A while back I posted a template modification that translates threads using Google's Language Tools. It's not perfect, but neither are the translation services available out there right now. It doesn't do quite what you where wanting, but it's something you might want to look at.
DJ's Translate a Thread in a Google Pop-Up Window EDIT: Looks like I need to add a few more languages to it. Google added a few more when I wasn't looking. |
