Adding "Create Thread" to non-forum pages.
Is there a recent tutorial that details this?

I'm not sure what you mean. There is a form hack which makes a new form to be filled out to post a new thread. Or are you just talking about a New Thread button on some page you wrote? I'm really not sure what you want.

Sorry for not being more clear...
I would like to add a button to each videos page that will automatically create a thread w/ that video's title. The title information is all called from $videotitle, so the form might work as well if it lets them select the proper forum ID? |

So you have a page that has a video on it, and you want users to click on a button to start a thread about that video with the videotitle and in a specific forum? I'm sure you can create a form on the video page with the video title in it and the forumid and then click the button and it takes you to a New Thread page with the title already filled in. If you have that button though, you may end up with lots of threads all with the same title being posted. Is that what you want?

Ideally I would like it to check if this 'video thread' has been created, but that might a little more difficult since the videos aren't stored in a DB... Could you post the URL to the form you mentioned so I can see if it can be tweaked?
Thanks so much Lynne, Jacob |
