I want to call in the user avatar but i dont want to have to add a hack to do this such as the welcome panel as i only need the avatar part to display in my side menu.
Does anyone know the code to call this in plz. |

Did you try hitting refresh on the page? (or Force Refresh - shift + refresh)

can refresh as many times as i like it did`nt change in side menu but changed instantly in postbit.
It sort of made me believe the code i was using to call in the avatar was not the right one even though it displays fine. |

It could be that the avatar has not been determined at the time that the side bar is spit out. It's hard to say with the information given. I've never put a side bar on my site, so I'm not familiar with how any of them are added and when the code for them is spit out.
