Your Notificaions Question
My forum is image 2. I want mine to look like image 1 with that pop out box for alerts. Currently mine only alerts for private messages there.
I run 3.7 with a custom skin, I tried reverting the navbar template and it screwed things up a bit. I just Un reverted it. Is there anyother way to get those features? Thanks! |

so you want to manually add those edits..
Find this in navbar:- HTML Code:
<if condition="$show['pmwarning']">
HTML Code:
<if condition="$show['notifications'] AND $show['popups']"> <div><span id="notifications"><a href="usercp.php$session[sessionurl_q]">$vbphrase[your_notifications]:</a> <strong>$notifications_total</strong></span></div> <script type="text/javascript"> vBmenu.register("notifications"); </script> <else /><if condition="$show['pmstats']"> <div><phrase 1="$vbphrase[unread_x_nav_compiled]" 2="$vbphrase[total_x_nav_compiled]" 3="$session[sessionurl_q]">$vbphrase[private_messages_nav]</phrase></div> </if></if> HTML Code:
<!-- / user cp tools menu -->
HTML Code:
<if condition="$notifications_total"> <!-- notifications menu --> <div class="vbmenu_popup" id="notifications_menu" style="display:none"> <table cellpadding="4" cellspacing="1" border="0"> <tr><td class="thead" colspan="2">$vbphrase[your_notifications]</td></tr> $notifications_menubits </table> </div> <!-- / notifications menu --> </if> |

Yes, I knew that would happen. It just means that you have double instances of that code:-
Find this:- HTML Code:
<if condition="$show['pmwarning']">
HTML Code:
<if condition="$show['pmstats']"> <div><phrase 1="$vbphrase[unread_x_nav_compiled]" 2="$vbphrase[total_x_nav_compiled]" 3="$session[sessionurl_q]">$vbphrase[private_messages_nav]</phrase></div> </if> |

Thank you so much for your help.
If I could ask you one last question.. See the attached image.. By removing that set of code you suggested it changed it from 2 private mesages to 1 and 1 notification.. How do I lose the private message all together and just keep the notifications? thanks! |

It should not happen. Check if you have followed the instructions above. You must be having an extra Private message phrase still there.
And what happens when you do not have any notifications ? |

I have followed the instructions as specified I believe.
When all notifications have been checked the notification text disappears and just the private messages text remains. |

For gods sake stop editing code like that. It's normal behavior for vb 3.7 to display "Your Notifications" if you actually have one. otherwise, it looks like your right image.

what do you mean by right image?

Your second attachment - Picture 2.png. When you have no notifications, that's what you're supposed to see. Picture 1.png is what appears only if you actually have a notification.
