Changing Navigation Links

Hi all,

I am a new VBulletin user and have been able to fully customize my forum so far by just searching around forums and applying old articles to my needs. However, there's one painfully simple task I need to complete that I just can't figure out- changing the links on the top Navigation Bar of my forum.

Right now my links are:
User CP - FAQ - Members - Calendar - New - Search - Links - Log Out

So how do I change these (want to replace a couple)? I've searched on Google and these forums and have found just one guide, which was for an earlier VB release and when I tried following it, the coding he was saying to replace was not consistent with what I saw in mine- so to be safe I did not follow it.

open your navbar template, find the html code that corresponds to each link and just remove it or add something after it.

If this link goes to the FAQ page:

How would I edit that to make it link to this specific thread:

/forum/showthread.php?t=2

Do I just make it link to that page, or do I need to put the $session[sessionurl_q] or any other coding onto the URL?


Sorry to have not been specific enough in the first post, but if someone could straighten this question up it should give me a good enough understanding to finish it up.

I changed the links to the plain old URLs (example: showthread.php?t=2) but now my members are saying when they click the links they are sometimes forced to re-sign in.

Any ideas?

To clarify/simplify the question, when linking to specific threads within the forum, should I attach any extra coding with the links?

Which of the following two links would be appropriate?

/forum/showthread.php?t=2

/forum/showthread.php?t=2$session[sessionurl_q]
