I want to be sure, that the used avatars on my board don't have problems with any kind of rights.
So I want to start an action which "cleans" them. I don't know if I should delete them all and let the user set a new one (or the old one, if this was correct). Is there any routine you know which could be used for an issue like that? Did you have the same problem and what did you do? Thanks a lot! Marcel |

What do you mean about cleaning them?

I just want to be sure, that every avatar which stays after "cleaning" isn't against any law. And so I have to check them or delete them all and tell the users to upload correct avatars ...
That's what I meant with "cleaning" them. But different ways are possible. It would be interesting for me, how you have done it. |

Not 100% sure what you mean here, but vBulletin has no way of knowing if an avatar is "clean" or not. I'm assuming you're refering to unsuitable avatars, eg Pornographic? If so, there's not a lot you can do, other than either disable avatars or make sure that if someone does chose an inapropriate one it is removed and the user sanctioned at your discression.

In other words:
is there a routine, where I can It's not just pornografic but also the use of pictures they don't own (user rights). 1. how can I see, how much avatars there are? 2. how can I delete them all? Or: how can I go through them all and mark the avatars, I want to delete (all marked together). Thanks! |

Well like I said, there's no real method of determining weather an image is inapropriate or copyrighted. Only a Human would be able to tell that with any degree of accuracy. Automated moderation can only go so far, you still need Humans to spot the troublemakers and deal with them.
Admins and Moderators both have the ability to Edit a users profile and delete the current avatar they are using. |
