Default I'm having problems understanding style installs.

I understand how to download the .xml file through the admin control panel...but I can't figure out where exactly to put all the other files.

Can anybody give me some pointers, I'm new with the VB stuff....

Thanks....

I recommend reading our Download / Upload Styles section in the vbulletin manual.

Thank you, but that told me about all the stuff i was already aware of.

It didn't tell me where I needed to put image files and such that come with the style. Do I overwrite or do I just put them their folder somewhere inside the images folder?

See? The style works, but all of the buttons and things in the images folder are not showing up...I was wondering where in my server i need to paste these files too...I tried just pasting the folder in the images folder, I even broke it down by type into type...but still nothing happens...

Here is a screenshot...

The image files usually go in the images directory (forum root/images) but this depends on the style.

If you go into your admincp > style manager> All style options for the style, you'll see in there the paths to the images. That is where the style expects to find the images, so this is where you should upload them to.

make sure the style's image paths are correct
admincp / Style Manager / Styles & Templates / {select your style then select} StyleVars

What are StyleVars?

ok i did that. i change the paths in stylevars where i wanted them to find the icons and stuff. the icons seemed to be ok. however the logo doesnt display. for example if i downloaded a skin and uploaded it at my site, everything is working ok, except for the fact that the name or the title (in this case Morbid Mulberry) keeps on appearing on the top right corner. that is where i want my logo to go and i changed the paths, then brought the paths back to the original and uploaded the logo there, but it still doesnt read my logo. one more thing, the paths that aare shown, bear vbulletin logo, where as the displayed logo is that of the skin title..............i am a bit confused. why is this happening?..please chekc this link http://www.familybunker.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=3

If you select a template and hit the Revert button, the template goes back to the 'default' template for that style (usually the default Jelsoft version of the template).

I just checked out that link and I see your logo in the upper left and nothing in the upper right. When you are changing images and such on a page and then you go back to that same page to see the changes, make sure you do a Force Refresh (usually shift + refresh) so it gets all the images fresh from the server.
