Video Management

Hi everyone!

I run a forum/site for Mariah Boat Owners. It's essentially an online resource for owners of Mariah Boats. Anyway, we were given about 8 DVD's by the founder of the company that are product promotion videos as well as behind the scenes production info. With the company no longer in business, these videos are hard to come by and i'm trying to figure out the best way to get them online for our members to view. I'm looking for a plugin/product for vbulletin that would provide us with a database management system, similar to the Geek Articles and Review System (Unfortunately, GARS does not support vids). I'm currently running 3.6.7 PL1 but will be upgrading soon to 3.7.2.

I'm stumped as to what would work. I've searched vbulletin.org and have come across Goldbrick and other products for linking vids from youtube. That's not what we want to do. Essentially, i'm looking for a video player i guess.

Anyone done something similar to what i'm trying to do and has some insight? Any info would be much appreciated.

I to, have been searching for something on this sort.
I had to load my vids via ftp & embed them into my site.

But members can't upload there own, you would need to set up an ftp account to share globally. Trusting members not to delete or edit the names of videos in that folder would be hard to monitor.

And allowing HTML would need to be enabled if you were to post the embed code for members to copy & use in there post after they uploaded their video,
is not a good thing to do.
So, either you add them via ftp yourself & embed them your self on vb powered pages or on vba template modules.

Or look into the only one I have seen, located hereread trough it. Try it on a test site before installing on your live board.

I to am am going to give this a try.
