Is there a method of adding links and menus to the existing navbar?

This thread is almost dead (thanks for the links to creating drop-down menus by the way), but there was one thing I wanted to add.
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=178672 The thread above is for an xml file that automatically searches for references to the usercp option (that's right, it searches for every reference to usercp) and then automatically inserts a drop-down menu for it. The xml file also creates a new seperate template for each list of drop-down choices, which can easily be edited to add new links. Now, if we could take the ideas from this mod (maybe get the author involved), then we could select what templates to search (navbar, header, head include, and footer), and automatically insert any drop-down we want. Or, we could create a new navbar option (with drop-down choices) and then automatically create an xml file for it. Basically, the new mod I want to create is an advanced menu drop-down creator which searches for references to existing navbar titles (such as members, faq, usercp, etc.) and then adds drop-downs for it... Or it allows us to create new navbar titles (basically creating a special template for each new title). I'm not sure if you guys follow me, but I'd love to hear what you think. I really think this would be a cool mod, and if done the right way, would make menu creation so easy. |
