Newb here. I'm working with v3.7.1 and have figured out the RSS feed manager - pretty simple. But I've noticed that although I've got my feeds set to auto-update every 2-4 hours (depending on the feed), they seem to do so fine at times, while other times don't update, requiring me to do it manually. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to it.
I do have quite a few RSS feeds set up, but again, sometimes it appears to work fine, other times not. Anyone got a clue as to why? |

vBulletin Scheduled Tasks only run when a person hits a page of your forums. They will usually not run exactly every 2/4 hours.

Makes a bit more sense then ... the board's not live yet so there's only a couple of us on at any given time.
If you don't mind a follow-up, does it matter what user group those people are in? As of now there's only admins and a couple test registered users. And does it matter which forums we/they hit on? Thanks for the help. |

it doesnt matter what usergroup it is. They can even be guests.
A tip - open a browser window and go to who's online. Minimize the window and forget about it. The refreshing of it happens automatically and it keeps all you scheduled tasks ticking over. Once your site has more activity then you can stop doing this. Its just a little cheat but it can be very handy! |
