vB integration
Ok what i want to do is have posts in a certain forum on my forums display as content on my main page, only the initial post of course..
So what i need to know is where do i SELECT from in vB's table structure? I am unfamiliar with it...also is there a log-in script i can use to integrate my logins and sessions into the main site so it says "Welcome NegativeSmoke (log out)" etc.... on my main page? |

Both are indeed possible. For the first post in a thread all you need to do is query the post table and just specifcy what the threadid is. Alternatively if you wanted the most recent post or thread you would query the thread table and the post table and then order by DESC with a limit of 0,1. I think that answers your question, if not please say.
Your second question is also possible. If you want the logon box i believe you can just copy the HTML from the logon template and use that. The important thing is that the FORM ACTION points to the vBulletin Login File. If you would like an example please say. James |

Yes would you be able to provide me with examples of the code(s) and such to use?
Also, would it be possible to provide me with the queries needed? my template structure is vB_ for the database....so for example: vB_posts I'm new to using SQL and a new vB user as well, i have a guy offering to do it for me but i don't trust him enough with my information especially access to my database.....and since i paid for my vB license i don't want anyone else with my info.. I'd greatly appreciate it sir. see right now i have my forums living at http://zeroboards.net, i plan on moving them to http://boards.zeroboards.net and having the main site live at http://zeroboards.net I have a layout already made too. |

You shouldn't really delve into things you are not really confident with. I suggest some reading on basic PHP/MySQL, it would help in the long run.

Use phpmyadmin to view the database and table structure.

Yeah will do.
Wouldn't it just be "SELECT FROM 'vB_post' WHERE 'forum ID=XXX' " ? |
