In the PM hack in v1.1.x there was a feature where you could retrieve information about the latest PM to be send to you i.e. date/time/sender etc so this could be displayed on the front page in a similar style to the forums.
Is it possible in some way to do this in v2. It gets the counts of PM's but doesn't retreive info on the latest one, presumably this would be a simple SQL statement, but would it slow things down too much? |

Currently I give the option to my users of showing their PM folders on the main page (and along with that, the number of read, unread, new since last visit messages for each folder) and it adds about .015 seconds to the MySQL/PHP execution time of the page for me.

Any ideas on the SQL or otherwise I would need to get the persons latest privatemessage?

No matter.
I had a copy of the old v1 PM system and the stuff to get the last poster in that worked with v2 with a little modification. |
