Default Articles with vb version

Hi,

I hate to bring this back up again (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=122301) but would it be possible to have articles in sub-forums by version.

They're a valuable resource for people like me who are learning how to to anything with the board, but many of the articles are wildly out of date.

I know you're thinking people shouldn't have to be led by the hand through the relatively minor changes and leaps in logic that are needed to make a particular articles knowledge work for whatever version you're working on, but this is probably a closed way of thinking.

The easier vbulletin is to understand, the easier it is to begin making your own sophisticated mods, and the more people will become more loyal through pride in being able to make their own mods.

It's hard enough to grasp the concept of vbulletin plugins, eval'ing templates, and even the xml bitfields and navigation as a noob - why not make the information easier to find. Perhaps even write some yourselves - god knows I could stand to learn from more experts in vbulletin rather than just figuring it out myself as I go along.

Just a couple of categories would suffice: vb3 vb3.5 vb3.6 vb3.7 and General (for ones about server optimisation, monetisation, and such) - it's not too big a change, but it could make all the difference to tomorrows up and coming coder of the next big hack (like me, perhaps )

Here Here!!!

Its murder trying to look through threads, then encountering random problems which makes you think your total moron til you realize your using an out of date article for reference.

Well we certainly want articles to be categorized as best as possible and you bring up some good issues. Right now we are top priority is upgrading to 3.7, and utilizing 3.7's thread tagging may be a solution to this problem.

I agree, would make it look more professional and would be more user friendly.
