Adding a $post "call-able" template.
First time poster here. I want to apologize beforehand if I have this posted in the wrong forum, but I figured it was programming related. Anyways...
I want to duplicate the FUNCTION of postbit_onlinestatus template with a new template called postbit_txtonlinestatus. I want to have my red/green/grey gif as well as some text that says "Status: OFFLINE" etc, but call-able from two different places in postbit. My Question is this... Where is the eval for the onlinestatus template? I know its probably somewhere in the multitude of php files. I just can't find it. I figured once I found it, i could copy it and paste it, modify it to reflect my new template, and then I could call "$post[txtonlinestatus]" from the postbit template. Hopefully someone can help. I've done a lot of searching and i'm really not coming up with much, probably b/c I don't really know what to call this kind of mod. EDIT: I do believe this is called a template hook now, after more searching. I think i might be on the right track thinking about plugins, hooks, etc... |

Call a hook from "postbit_display_complete" location. Within that hook, use this call..

Excellent!
--------------- Added [DATE]1204673484[/DATE] at [TIME]1204673484[/TIME] --------------- Ok now I wonder, how do I get the the "onlinestatus" conditional in my customtemplate? Everything I "call" is coming back 0. Do I need to globalize that variable somewhere? |
