How to change "UserCP" to "User Info"
On the first page, after logging in,the first button on the left.
Saw something here about this, but cannot find it again. Searching not showing a result. We've got many non-computer people my my forum and although I've left a post about how to change their info, they are still having a problem finding it. TIA |

If you search for "User CP" in your phrases, you come up with the global phrase "user_cp" which I believe is the one you want. The problem is that the word "User CP" is used in many different phrases to talk about the User CP. I'm not sure if you want to change them all, but if so, just do that search in your phrases and you will get a list of every phrase that uses the term "User CP"

If your talking about the button on your navbar...
Go to your Admin CP > Styles & Templates > Choose "edit templates on the dropdown menu right of your style > Click the "<< >>" button to display all templates > Navigate to your navbar template > Search for: Code:
$vbphrase[user_cp] That way you can avoid messing up other phrases that use User CP |

Yes, I was talking about the button on the navbar.
What happens if I change $vbphrase[user_cp] to [user_info] on the navbar of a style, the "UserCP" simple disappears form the navbar. If I change it to [User Info], it causes a syntax error and the page is blank. Seems to me that's simply saying to echo a variable that isn't actually defined. Doesn't this have to be defined somewhere before using? Also, would not defining the variable to be 'User Info' screw it up everywhere else it's used. Now, bear in mind that I've quite unfamiliar with website software and PHP. |

No, if you only want to change it in the navbar and no where else, remove $vbphrase[user_cp] and replace it with "User Info" do not put it in a variable or anything.
If you want to change UserCP every where its listed, then do the steps where it tells you how to change the phrase, i think its in the second post. |

Thanks to both ChU v2 and FRDS for the help, that works very well. I did not quite understand Chu v2, so thanks for clearing that up.
