Links to do=login & do=lostpw from newsletter: fill out certain fields automaticly

We're planning to optimize our newsletter and want to help our lazy subscribers by providing them a direct login or password retrieval link.

Is it possible for the login page, to have their username already filled out, by providing a link like this somehow:

http://www.example.com/forums/misc.php?do=login&username=NAMEGOESHERE

Same goes for the lost password link: I want to have their email address already filled out in the email field, maybe by providing a link like this:

http://www.example.com/forums/login.php?do=lostpw&email=EMAIL@GOES.HERE


Maybe some solutions are possible with just the USERID?

You could just edit the forms in the templates and set the HTML value as $bbuserinfo[email].

Do you mean in the mass email bit in admincp?

Let me clarify: we use an external mailinglist script which has a separate db, but populated with common vb user fields like the username, email & userid.

These examples do not work btw:
http://www.example.com/forums/misc.php?do=login&username=$username
http://www.example.com/forums/misc.php?do=login&username=$email
