edit first post only
I haven't found something like this.
I allow my users to edit their posts for 30 minutes. But I want them to edit their first post of their own topic. Anyone know how to realize this? |

Yes, it can be done because I made it that way on my forum. I didn't write down what I did though. I think I had to edit the postbit templates to show the edit button all the time if it's the firstpost and it's that user and then I edited the editpost.php file to change the conditional to also allow editing if it's the firstpost and it's the owner.

Sadly I'm not that pro on coding things. May you have some more hint on this?
Thank you for your answer |

I just threw together the couple of things I could find about this. If you PM me your email address, I'll send you my text file on it. Do you have a test site to test it out on? (My test site already has this installed so I can't verify I have it all written down in my text file). Also, I do not think mine allows for editing of attachments past the time limit since I actually have modified my site to allow no editing of attachments at all in the first post. (I run a torrent site and can't have the users deleting the torrents).
