I am not sure if and how i can restore my backup (mysql4.1) to 3.7-3 ?
I mean...i want to backup my live forum (3.6.8.-2, 27K members) and create a new VB 3.7-3.Then get somehow the members and posts. I restored already 2 times my forum with a backup and i know how this part works. But i am not sure if its so simple like i imagine right now. If not,can i and SHOULD i try it on my live forum (after doing a backup of course) ? Any hints appreciated ! Cheers and happy new year to all of you !!! ![]() ps. sorry mods, if this is in the wrong place.feel free to remove it if its so. |

1. Create a subfolder called test-373 and upload the new 3.7.0-3 files to it.
2. Dump/Backup your live db and create a new db named test_373, import the backup you just took into it. 3. Perform the upgrade on the new test-373 you've just created. |

3.7 Beta 3 is still a beta and should not be used in live environments. Also, the beta should only be used if you have sound knowledge of vBulletin (I've used that term loosely).

You are missing 1 step:
2b) Edit your config.php for the test board to point to your test database. |
