There's nothing wrong with it and I agree that it's often helpful. I just was curious and thought I'd ask. That and I don't see how zipping a file that's potentially rather small anyway is going to save *that* much bandwidth or download time. I guess it's better than having people complain to coders that their attachments are too large and asking them to zip them. Just zip everything and nobody complains.
Its easier for everyone to have uniformity in the releases.
You come to download a mod, you automatically know its going to be in .zip and not have to worry about downloading all sorts of seperate files. And its simplier to say, everyone use .zip even if you only have one file to upload anyway
