its it possible to install this download addon as a stand alone hack on my vb ?

reason being i have no use for the portal itself but the downloads part is perfect for what I need

I think it is possible if you want to play around with it and change the code a little bit.

well according to vbportals it is

anyway I got it going ok but the permission are not working

so how can i setup the download.php so that unreg'd/userwaiting confirmation are redirected to a no permission page ?
