When users get a permission denied error, it says this

$bbuserinfo[username]

It SHOULD have their username in place of where it says that, right? Any idea how I can fix this and get it to actually show their username instead of this?

Disable your modifications/plugins and see if it starts working. Try with a new default style and see if it works then.

Have you made any modifications/installed any plugins that are related to the permission denied error?
