Custom Usergroup Premissions

I have already asked this in the 'Create Custom Usergroup Permission' with no response. Trying to figure out if it's possible to adjust some permissions (upon product install) for certain usergroups so they don't have access to certain features while other usergroups do. What would be the query for changing the permissions after the bitfield has been updated?
