<a href="http://www.trlinux.com/" target="_blank">Postaci webmail</a> (latest release 1.1.3) is one of the most widely used php web based email system (check out the screenshots). I'm currently having vBulletin Integrated with Postaci, and a Classified Ad system.
This should be a great product for anyone who plans to launch a portal in php. Outsourcing your web based email can cost thousands of dollars monthly. A 20 gig dedicated server cost just $99 a month from. That's 10,000 users with 2mb of email space each. If anyone is interested in sharing the cost of this project please email me. Bid range or cost for this project so far is between $300 - $500. The more people the better. You must have POP3 and IMAP functions complied into PHP to use Postaci. |

You don't need Admin access to install Postaci on your account, unless you're on an NT server.
Since Postaci lacks a registration form, it will use vBulletin's to register new users, and NO, you don't need to register users 1 by 1 in the Control Panel. You can try installing another PHP email client, PHP POP3, in your account to see how everything works. http://ractive.ch/popper/index.php The only problem with Postaci is that it requires IMAP functions compiled into PHP. It's a simple, little module that your host might not offer. But it never hurts to ask. Here's a little feature I plan to add that can be very useful. After sign up, and instead of the regular vBulletin Welcome Page, users will have 3 links to choose from: Classifieds, Email, or Forum. |
