How do I make a forum of type "link" to pass the session to the next page ?

Hi,

For a forum of type "link" you have to tell it where to send the user when he clicks on the respective forum. What I need is to be able to specify the session for the page that will load when the forum is clicked. (please see the attached image)

Practically, I need this for users that don't accept cookies.

How can this be done ?

This is standard VB stuff.

Just go to "Forums and moderators" then choose "edit forum". From there you can create a forum link for any forum:

Forum Link (Entering a URL here will cause anyone clicking the forum link to be redirected to that URL)

A forum of type "link" can point anywhere, even on other web sites.

Ah, couldn't tell from the screenshot.

I don't think the link is parsed for variables, so you might have to modify some core files.

Hmm .... that sounds quite bad.

Maybe I should disable session IDs completely ! That would solve the problem. Is this possible ?

I may need to know how many people have cookies disabled (statistically), before I can proceed with this.

Not sure as I haven't dealt with this before. I would start by locating how the forums are called.
