how do I set up RSS to notify members when I want to?

[Make Money?]

We want to have Podcasts (stored perhaps on Itunes)
And written interviews (as text in threads on the forum)
And video interviews (stored perhaps on YouTube)

And wish to alert people to:
Competitions on the forum
Special guests appearing on the forum for Q&A sessions
Forum social events world-wide

How can we best set up a one stop' subscription for all of the above combined?
And how can we 'promote it' on the forum? (a button somewhere?)

Do we get the chance to describe all that they are subscribing to - an RSS description?

Any RSS "power user" tips on how to link up with Itunes & YouTube will be gratefully received.

how do we 'broadcast' to these RSS subscribers when we have something new for them?

Our members don't liked to be bothered by emails (who does) so RSS might be ideal. And I believe tie ins with ITunes and YouTube will help attract more visitors to the forum...

I need to learn up on RSS decorum, what the cool thing to do is.

I dont know if I should want to send NOTICE of new media, or to have the RSS simply START to new media when clicked?

Any RSS tips out there for me VBulletin comrades?
