How Do I Stop Blatant Advertising?
Hey
I've got a problem with my forums, well besides it being dead lol. Often people or bots will just register and drop a lot of links in a topic, I ban them and delete the topic. Ban the IP and emails but they still seem to be coming. I was wondering if there is a way to stop new users posting html until they reach something like 10-20 posts? Cheers Also I was thinking about upgrading my version of vBulletin but I think it would screw with my design. Suggestions? Thanks again |

Personally, I will not enable HTML for anyone on my forum.
But, yes you can do that. Set registered users to not allow HTML and then set up a promotions in ACP to promote them to a user group that does have HTML enabled after 20 posts. Other subject; How do you think it will 'screw up' your style? When I upgraded from 3.5.4 to 3.6.0 I just had to revert and re-edit my templates. No biggie. |

I suppose thats what I'm worried about. My design was designed then I edited it so I dunno what would happen. Plus I'm not exactly superb when it comes to HTML stuff, I just dont want anything to go wrong. It's been one of those weeks where everything breaks lol.
