copy changes from one style to another?
Hi,
What is the best way to copy changes from one style to another? For example, I use to have just 1 style .. the default one .. Now i want to add at least 4-5 skins more. Is there something that can change the modification from one style to another ? Cheers, |

well, not exactly. thing with that is, that if you do that, the new style will be almost the exact format as the other, aside table colors and such. I mean, if thats how you want it cool, just select the whole template and copy and replace to the new one. But you're better off just finding what you need out the old templates and placing them into the new templates. Takes time, I know

Try making your styles a child style of the default style!
Without knowing which styles you are using it hard for me to give you any advice! Sometimes if your templates are close in design you can revert common templates like navbar, memberinfo and postbit! These are the ones that get the most edits! copy and paste the code to an editor then revert it. take a peek and if you dont like it then paste the original code back! It may take some time but it will be worth it! I have got all of my styles running on reverted to default on the mentioned templates and it its GREAT when I only have to edit one parent style!! :wow: BTW, if you install a new skin... and you have a universal header, sometimes you can revert the entire template. If its fixed it will likely move to fluid... If you dont like it after the revert you can always reimport the styles xml and over write the old one .. I suggest trying to break it!! lol thats the best way to learn! You can do no wrong as long as you leave your default one alone |

Hi,
I came up with another idea. Instead of changing the navbar, I just created a table and put it just below the logo. I was trying to get the navbar synced in all, but by reverting, they get the colors of the other style too. Here is what I have done http://www.nepalhub.com/ But if I can have an easy way to get rid of my table and sync all the navbar like default into the styles, it will be a great help. Thanks |

Check out how I have done it between my styles!
Once you revert all navbars to default then on some templates you will have 2 navbars with the same info, because some of the styles have part of the navbar in the header! If you can spot this data in the header then you can jsut clip it out! snip I just took a look at yours and it would be easy for you to default all your navbar templates! You use two of the styles that I do lol dont mind my headers...they ae a work in progress :P It should not inherit the colors!! I missed that, sorry! You are not reverting everything, are you? Just the navbar template. |
