Sorry for the basic questions :-)

While being my board admin, I don't actually have access to the web host. If anyone can give me some simple directions, I'm trying to help our web designer fix this error:

When I try to upload smilies, I get:

Warning: fopen(images/smilies/osu.gif): failed to open stream: Permission denied in \includes\class_upload.php on line 957

There was an error encountered with your upload:

Invalid File Path Specified

If I was sitting in front of her computer I could dig through and find out what permissions she needs to change etc., but unfortunately I can't.

Any ideas what I should tell her?

Have you found a solution yet? I had the same problem on my board after changing servers, the permissions on the servers are wrong. CHMOD on the images folder should be set to 0777. Correct me if I'm wrong about the exact setting, but it works.
