I'm almost done building my board and I would like to know how long from now do you think that vb 3.6 will be done? I want to add a skin and a few add-ons but I want to wait until 3.6 comes out before adding any mods.

There is no way to answer your question. It depends on many things. There will be at least 1 RC version before Gold, but how long or how many RC's needed will depend on the number of bugs reported etc...
