I have seen there is a fake statistics add-on. i think it would be an even better idea to be able to have fake viewers. where it says (## viewing) in the forums. you would be able to set the number of "fake" people viewing. i think this would make people sign up a lot faster if they know (think) theres a lot of people viewing

well i dun know why but on my site tat "hasnt been opened" yet is getting alot of views for the threads. But i only view them once and no one else is on it.

I don't get it, if no one is viewing your forums right now -- why would simply seeing a fake number with no new threads/posts change that?

I mean, to each their own, obviously.. but I, personally, don't get it.

Have you personally ever signed up to a forum based solely on how many people were viewing a thread?

The reason behind it is to make your forums look a little busier than they might be.
If a guest sees an empty forum they might be inclined to turn about face, content or no content, its one of those point of views thingys!!
