As threads are automatically dated, a more descriptive thread title would be better IMO.

"June 16th, 2006" is my favorite date format, and should make sense to most people.

unless you're in the US military... they use the day-month-year format

this is the format the U.S. Military uses as well

But i guess that is a coder thing, easier to sort etc..

I meant it more in terms of "English". I usually write out full dates, but yes, on computers (especially if you are sorting) that makes it really easy.

I love how the focus of this thread is the date, and not the actual announcement...
