Now let me ask you this. Is there a way to remove the IP address icon from the forums itself that you see if your are an admin./mod? After working with hacks it seems that this would be written somewhere and if I removed it then the IP icon would dissapear thus giving nobody IP addy control via the icon in the posts. As I said, I plan on doing this just to have a little fun with my moderators. One of my wise moderators said, "HAHAHA, your anonymous postng feature sucks. All I did was looked at your the IP by clicking on the icon and I busted you" I just like to get back at them and let them know who is King!!!!!! LOL!!!!!!!!! I realize it is important for your admins and mods to see ips. But, there is nothing wrong with a little bit of fun is there? Thanks for your help. I think I have seen you on vbulletin.com. How you have time to help out on both forums is amazing. Your time is most appreciated. |

No, not mods, moderator permissions are still assigned when they are assigned to a forum, however a supermod permission (by default for the admin and smod group) sets all moderator permissions to yes, period.

I used a test account and made their primary usergroup "Moderator." I then made them moderator of one forum. I also dissabled the viewing IP addy for the usergroup Moderators. However, he can still see the IP addy icon in the forum he is assigned to as moderator. Did I set a control wrong? It appears from what you are saying, you CAN disable IP viewing for "Moderators," but I am not seeing that. Any idea what I am doing wrong? |

Then the moderator usergroup hsa the super moderator permission. Or when you assigned them as a moderator, you did not uncheck the ip viewing permissions the moderator gets.
Users are not moderators in the moderator group, nor do they get any moderator permissions in this group by default. THey get moderator permissions when they are assigned to a forum. |

I checked and double checked. And got this result. I did the following: Usergroup Manager>Moderators>Edit In Administrator Permissions: Can View IP Addresses: NO Can Moderate All Forums (is Supermoderator) NO Can Access Control Panel (is Administrator) NO I then made the test account the following: Primary Usergroup: Moderators Forum Manager>Add Moderators I made this test account a moderator of ONE forum. Here is what I saw: The test account appeared to be a Registered Member with no powers in all the sections except for the one I assigned him as Moderator. In the section that he was assigned, he had moderator powers and the IP address icon was still present. I think this is what the settings are supposed to be to disable him from viewing IP's but he is still seeing them. Am I still missing something here? |

And it worked!!!! Now, it appears it will be a big task to assign all the moderators like this to all our forums. I like having them able to moderate every section. Is there a fast way of doing this or do I have to assign each and every one of my moderators like this? I ask this because I would like to somehow set them back and forth to not see IP addys. But it would be a huge task. |

I have never assigned a moderator by category. What is the procedure on doing this? I tried looking in the ACP, but couldn't find it. |

Same, just assign them to the category they will inherit downwards.
